I am a sucker for good reads, good tunes, and a good word. Here, you can get a deeper glimpse into my world - what I'm currently reading + listening to.

What I'm Reading

How to Talk so People Will Listen by Steve Brown // What an appropriate time to learn how to communicate well. I'm only a little ways into this, and already a firm believer that every single person should be required to read this book at some point in their adult lives. Our words have power, and it'd do us all (especially our generation) some good to learn how to communicate in grace, truth, and love.

King Jesus Gospel: The Original Good News Revisited by Scot McKnight // I'll be honest, I'm a little critical of the approach by McKnight. The language he uses assumes a posture of arrogance coupled with a haughty tone. I can't say that I disagree with his views on the "salvation culture" we have created, and his effort to circle us back to a "gospel culture". His perceived attitude is distracting and unnecessary, however his points are unreal.

What I'm Listening to

Up and Vanished Podcast // Eleven years ago my dad's cousin went missing from her home in Ocilla, GA. The investigation involved the GBI, the Ocilla police dept., and other PI's the family hired, resulting in the largest case file in the state of Georgia and came with no leads and no arrests. There were very weird and eerie things throughout the entire investigation but never one that led to closure over what happened to Tara. After 11 years, Payne Lindsey decided to air a podcast that was completely solicited to Tara's investigation. Six months after airing, an arrest was finally made for the murder of Tara Grinstead. Weird timing, huh? If you're into murder cases, mystery and suspense stories that happen to be reality (and even if you're not) this is for you.

Glorious in the Mundane Podcast with Christy Nockels // This is a treasure trove. I find myself driving to Atlanta with tear-filled eyes every other weekend. Christy makes you feel as if you are sitting across from her at her farm table speaking truth and life over you. She draws near to Jesus and brings you closer to Him as well through golden truth woven through the stories of her everyday living. Take a listen, I promise you will not regret it.

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey // Jamie is such a treat to listen to. As she sits down with different girlfriends every week to discuss new projects, new releases, new things they are loving, etc she is just so much fun! If you are looking for something light hearted, but filled with truth about Jesus - Jamie is your girl.
